Owner & Chief Communications Strategist

Jennifer LaRose Sharp is an 8-year communications professional from Memphis, TN who always strives to positively impact the city. As an honors graduate and 2009 valedictorian of George Washington Carver High School and 2013 graduate of Christian Brothers University, Jennifer describes herself as a “proud Memphian” because of her love for the city in which she was born and raised and her support of the city’s organizations, initiatives, and people.

With her passion for helping others and love for her work in communications, Jennifer currently serves as the Public Information Specialist for the Shelby County Health Department in the COVID-19 Response Unit and is the owner and Chief Communications Strategist for Sharp Lifestyle Communications where she develops and implements communications strategies for nonprofit organizations and small businesses.

Jennifer’s work in the communications profession has earned her several awards including 2015, 2016, and 2017 VOX awards from the Memphis chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In 2017, she was named the 2017 recipient of the Rising Star award by PRSA.

When she is not being a communications professional, Jennifer writes for various publications, including The New Tri-State Defender and Memphis Small Business Quarterly, and manages her own blog, Sharp Lifestyle Blog, a lifestyle blog for “sharp-minded individuals.” She was also one of the 2018 Legends Award Writers for the Women’s Foundation of Greater Memphis’ Legends Awards, where they honor women who have made a significant impact in the Memphis community. She is also currently enrolled in the University of Memphis where she is pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Strategic Media.

Despite her busy schedule, Jennifer continues to be active in her community. She is an active member in the Junior League of Memphis, Greater Memphis Chamber’s Young Professional Council, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated – Alpha Eta Zeta chapter where she currently serves as an advisor for one of their Zeta Youth Auxiliaries, the Archonettes.

Jennifer is also a member of professional organizations such as the National Black MBA Association and the National Association of Black Journalists. Currently, Jennifer serves as the president-elect and Vice President of Programming for the Memphis chapter of PRSA and serves on the Board of Directors for All Things Are Possible, Incorporated, a youth mentoring organization that encourages and promotes responsible decision-making, academic excellence, critical thinking, and civic responsibility in local communities, both domestic and abroad. As a communications professional, writer, and community leader, Jennifer continues to be a change agent in her community.
